Probolinggo, March 24th 2002

Dear Oma,

How’s everything going with you? We are all very well here and I hope that you are too. Father is very busy with his bird-farm. You know more than fifty birds make him very busy. Mother has a new mixer. Actually she likes to make cakes, but I don’t like her cakes. They taste very strange on my tongue. (Ssstt … don’t tell her about it). Dhaka is still very naughty. He likes to bother me, but he often makes me laugh because, as we all know, he is very funny.

We have a new servant because the old one got married. At first I didn’t like her because she didn’t look friendly. But now I begin to like her because almost everyday she makes something nice to eat (and of course much nicer than mother’s cooking).

We plan to visit you on the next vacation. Hope to see you soon.

Well, that’s all for now, Oma. Please give my kiss to Opa.
