Hare and Tortoise

Good morning Everybody

The honorable juries, the contestant of English story telling Contest, all of myfriends, ladies and gentlemen.

Praised be to God because of his blessing we can attend in this special place and time, English Story Telling Contest.

First of all let me introduce myself, my name is Karunia Ditasari. I am from SMP 2 Yosowilangun.

 The title of my story is The Hare and The Tortoise.

Ok, I will start the story

One day in a jungle a hare met a tortoise near a river. The hare greeted the tortoise, the slowest animal in this jungle, when I see you I always laugh, Everyday you just saty your house, you bring your house everywhere you ha ..ha..ha. so that you can not walk quikly like me.

After listening the mock of the hare, the tortoise said” Hi Tortoise, you are so arrogant. Do you think that you are the best? Although I can not walk quikly but I can defeat you oneday”

The hare replied “ What????????????????? You can defeat me oneday??? Impossible-impossible, ...........don’t dream tortoise, hey wake up wake up. You will defeat me ..........how come??????????

The tortoise said : ok, I will prove it,  I will challange you in Running race tomorrow. Are you ready or not?????

What?????????????????? you... you challange me??????????? The hare was surprised.

Are sure Tortoise asked the hare.

The Tortoise answered “Yes, I am sure, please tell everybody”

The hare said “Ok, I will tell them”

Then a Crane announce about the running race. It sounded”

“Announcement, to all the animals in this jungle. Please gather tomorrow near a lake. There will be a running competition between. Mr. Hare and Mr. Tortoise.”

The next morning, all of animals in that jungle gather near a lake. The competition would start from the lake until the river near Mr. Tiger’s house. They chose A crane and Pigeon as the juries. A crane was in the start line and the pigeon is in the finish line.

The crane would start the competition: Kwak – kwak- kwak. Be ready Mr. Hare and tortoise, I will start in count 3. One – two-Three go…..

The competition was started. Of course the hare could run fast and left far the tortoise.

The tortoise walked as usual slowly and slowly.

The hare said to himself “ I must be the winner, Tortoise. And you will get many mocks of animals in this jungle, because you have been dare to challenge me. You are really full, tortoise.

The hare jumped and jump quickly.  He was sure he must be the winner.

Unfortunately, on the way he felt tired, he looked back, he could not see the tortoise.\

“The tortoise is still far away from me. I think it’s better for me to take a rest under that tree.”

 The hare then took a rest under a tree. The wind blew his face softly. It made him so sleepy and felt asleep, and he slept for about 30 minutes.  The hare got up, he was surprised .” Oh no I felt asleep. Where is the tortoise, I can see him”

He then looked forward. Is he tortoise?????????? near the finish line?????????? He passed me when I was sleeping.

The hare did not believe, the tortoise has been leaving him.

“ I must run as far as possible to catch up him”

Unfortunately the tortoise almost reached the finish line, it was about 30 centimeters.

And finally the winner was the tortoise. The hare was very shy to all animal in this jungle.

The Tortoise came to him and said” Mr. Hare, You see now, I can defeat you. It happen because I am not Arrogant.”

All of my friend, ladies and gentlemen.

From the story we can learn that to be arrogant will make us get shy oneday.
